It’s no secret that business owners wear many a hat, and eventually some of those hats need delegation. Ever since I started Nicole Dianne I’ve done most of my own branding. I’ve played around in Photoshop, watched Youtube videos on web design, read countless blogs, and stretched my own knowledge just about as far as I knew how. Although I enjoyed doing a lot of those things on my own, I was tired of having a standard, Photoshopped logo that anyone could duplicate. I wanted something a bit more personal and unique to the Nicole Dianne brand and knew it was time to delegate.
Before starting, I quickly became aware that I needed to have a solid grasp on my brand before hiring an artist to design a logo for me. A logo is the face of your brand and I didn’t want to risk making the wrong decision on the very face of my brand. So I spent several months sifting through ideas, dreams and goals until I settled on shifting Nicole Dianne toward mostly weddings. Because of this shift I wanted my new logo to have the perfect amount of class and whimsy. It was also important that the logo was hand-lettered to incorporate that same personal approach I take to weddings and photoshoots.
After searching for the right artist for several months I stumbled upon Hope Scott Calligraphy. I reviewed her work and started following her social media and eventually built up the courage to email her and hire her to design my new logo! We worked together for a few weeks, sending Pinterest boards and emails back and forth, and watching my logo come to life was the coolest thing. I highly, highly recommend working with Hope! She designed the perfect, watercolor logo to fit with the aesthetics of Nicole Dianne and I couldn’t be happier!
With out further adieu..
