My Staying in Essentials

It’s no secret around here that I love a nice, cozy evening. I would rather have a night in, then a night out any day of the week. I much prefer the comfort of home and sweatpants to loud parties and heels. If I’m being completely honest, the only pair of heels that I own are the ones I wore on my wedding day! I digress. There is something so comforting about home; the place where I feel most “me.” That’s why when Leesa reached out to me and asked if I would share my staying in essentials, I jumped at the opportunity. In a nutshell, my brand = staying in and enjoying my home, so this topic is my perfect match.

My staying in essentials

I’m about to reveal my truest of colors because the first item on my list of staying in essentials is of course, a comfy pair of sweatpants. If I’m at home, you can bet I’m in my comfies rather than a pair of jeans. My favorite sweatpants are this pair from the men’s department at H&M. A night in wouldn’t be complete with out every seasonal candle in my home being lit after dusk. I usually shop for candles at places like Bath & Body Works, Anthro, or Target as they always have the most affordable options and best scents. There is something so cozy about having the ambient light of a seasonal candle flickering during the night so this is always a must for my night’s in.

Most nights I queue up my favorite YouTube channels for a little bit of binge-watching while I wind down from the day’s work. Right now I’m loving these channels that focus on interiors: Mr. Kate, Kate La Vie, and Kitty Cotten. My final essential for staying in is a good book. I read a book before falling asleep every night because it’s my way to disconnect from everything happening in the world and allow my mind to clear. You can see what I’ve been reading lately in this post here!

Now that the days are getting shorter I’m definitely going to indulge my home-body self with lots more night’s in. What are your staying in essentials? Do you have any favorite YouTube channels or books to read during this time of year? I’m always in search of new things to add to my lists!
